    But now, this is what the LORD says—
    he who created you, O Jacob,
    he who formed you, O Israel:
    “Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
    I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
    2 When you pass through the waters,
    I will be with you;
    and when you pass through the rivers,
    they will not sweep over you.

  5. This passage blew me away this past Sunday. It really went against what I thought about prayer. But it really explains humility in prayer, like submitting yourself before Him. Actually one of the questers posted a great little skit that I'll post the link to, from the skit guys.

    Matthew 6:5-15
    5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
    9 “This, then, is how you should pray:

    “‘Our Father in heaven,
    hallowed be your name,
    10 your kingdom come,
    your will be done,
    on earth as it is in heaven.
    11 Give us today our daily bread.
    12 And forgive us our debts,
    as we also have forgiven our debtors.
    13 And lead us not into temptation,[a]
    but deliver us from the evil one.[b]’

    14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

  6. Today has been a weird day. With midterms, projects, and anticipated busy-ness in the near future, I just been tired and frustrated. I miss people, I tend to internalize everything, and I just wanted someone to talk to too about life, but people were busy. At Bible study we "randomly" chose Psalm 13 to look at (and it really was random!) and it seemed to be written straight to me! Especially vs 2,5-6:

    2 How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and every day have sorrow in my heart?
    5 But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.6 I will sing to the LORD, for he has been good to me.

    God is good, ALL the time!
